Chomutov has become a hub for discussions on hydrogen technologies. APT organized a meeting of the Czech Industrial Gases Association (\u010cATP) working group, showcasing unique educational technologies and deepening the collaboration between industry leaders and the educational sector. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Unique Trainer Within the EU<\/h2>\n\n

APT hosted another key working session for the PS 7 \u2013 Hydrogen working group of the Czech Industrial Gases Association (\u010cATP). This time, the meeting was held in cooperation with the ESOZ Chomutov vocational secondary school, highlighting the growing need to bridge technical practice with the preparation of future specialists. <\/p>\n\n

The primary motivation for choosing this venue was the increasing interest from industrial companies in qualified experts capable of developing, installing, operating, and servicing hydrogen technologies. In this context, APT delivered a hydrogen refueling station trainer to the ESOZ Chomutov school. This didactic tool is completely unique within the European Union. It allows students to safely practice processes they will encounter in real-world industrial environments. <\/p>\n\n

“Training simulators and real-world samples are the way to effectively modernize education,”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

it was noted during the session. Alongside the trainer, APT introduced its newly developed device for sampling high-pressure hydrogen, designed for purity analysis of hydrogen fuel for fuel cells. <\/p>\n\n

Practical Experience: From Education to Liquid Hydrogen<\/h2>\n\n

The school’s principal, Ing. B. Demjanov\u00e1, delivered a seminar explaining student preparation methods and emphasized the importance of industry experts’ involvement in education to make it more engaging and professionally focused. The program was further enriched by Ing. Jan Kubica from Chart Ferox, who shared uniqueinsights into liquid hydrogen. As one of the few practicing technicians in the Czech Republic with direct experience in this field, he explained the physical laws and technical processes associated with this medium. While liquid hydrogen currently finds its primary use in rocket propulsion for space programs, his presentation provided \u010cATP members with invaluable knowledge about a technology that has lacked a broader foundation in the country until now. <\/p>\n\n

Excursion to Alleima: Hydrogen in Heavy Industry<\/h2>\n\n

The program concluded with a visit to the Alleima plant in Chomutov. Led by Director Ing. Janou\u0161ek, participants learned about the production of stainless steel piping materials and specialized umbilical cables, which are critical components in hydrogen systems. The plant is also one of the region’s largest hydrogen consumers, using approximately 2 million m3 annually for thermal annealing processes. Members of the PS 7 working group highly praised the organization and content of the program, which provided practical knowledge applicable to their respective member organizations within \u010cATP. <\/p>\n\n
